FMU (below) is one of South Carolina's 14 state-supported universities, providing a strong liberal arts based undergraduate education with degrees in the arts, laboratory sciences, business, education and the social and behavioral sciences. We also provide graduate programs in education, business and psychology. FMU is fully accredited and enrolls nearly 4,000 students in an intimate campus environment near Florence, S.C.

By providing an array of classes , Poynor aims to help adults develop and fulfill their goals thereby maximizing their own potential. Serving as the adult component of Florence Public School District One, Poynor is the largest program of its kind in the state of South Carolina.
